This Privacy Policy applies to the Chrome extension Browser Statistic Tracker (the "Extension"). It explains how the Extension handles data, including collection, use, retention, and protection.

The Extension provides browsing usage analytics, including visited domains, session duration, visit timing, and first visited site after browser startup.

1.3 Scope

This policy applies only to the Extension itself. It does not apply to Google, Discord, Ko-fi, or any other third-party websites, services, or their privacy practices.

2. Types of Data Collected, Used, and Retained

2.1 Data Required for Core Functionality

The Extension processes only the data necessary to provide its tracking and statistics features:

(a) URL and domain of visited pages.
(b) Page title (if available).
(c) Visit start time, end time, and calculated duration.
(d) Active tab and window focus state used to determine timing boundaries.
(e) First visited domain after each browser startup.
(f) Local UI preferences (for example, language and selected period).

2.2 Data Not Collected by the Extension

The Extension does not intentionally collect:

(a) Name, phone number, physical address, or government ID.
(b) Passwords, payment data, banking data, or card numbers.
(c) Keystrokes, form input content, email content, or private message content.
(d) Contact list, camera, microphone, or precise location data.

2.3 Where Data Is Stored

Data is stored locally in the browser using Chrome extension local storage. The Extension is designed to process data on-device for its core functionality.

3. How Data Is Used

The Extension uses data only to provide and operate user-facing features:

(a) Showing total usage time for selected periods (today, week, month, year, all records).
(b) Showing top domains, recent visits, open counts, and chart analytics.
(c) Showing first site visited after startup sessions.
(d) Applying user interface preferences such as language and period selection.

The Extension does not sell personal data and does not use collected data for advertising profiling or credit scoring.

4. Permissions and Access

The Extension requests the following permissions only for core functionality:

(a) tabs for tab URL/title and active tab transitions.
(b) windows for focus changes affecting timing.
(c) alarms for periodic heartbeat updates.
(d) storage for local persistence of records and preferences.
(e) <all_urls> to support statistics across visited sites.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Data is retained until one of the following occurs:

(a) You clear records from the Extension.
(b) You remove the Extension or clear browser extension data.
(c) Internal local retention limits rotate out oldest records.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

The Extension does not sell, rent, or trade your data.

Data may be disclosed only when legally required, including:

(a) Compliance with applicable laws, court orders, or lawful requests from authorities.
(b) Protection against fraud, abuse, or significant security threats.
(c) Cases where you have provided explicit consent.

7. Security

Reasonable safeguards are applied, including:

(a) Limiting requested permissions to those needed for core features.
(b) Storing operational data locally in browser extension storage.
(c) Avoiding third-party ad trackers in core tracking workflows.

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe data has been processed inappropriately, please contact us so we can review and address the issue.
